Burton Smith Group invests £900,000 to support rising demand

Burton Smith Group has invested £900,000 to expand both its fleet and workforce as it responds to significant growth in reactive commercial repairs and maintenance.

The Bedfordshire based business has added 20 new vans to its fleet and recruited 10 qualified plumbing and heating specialists, increasing total headcount to just over 50.

Prior to the investment, the company operated 25 vans across core service areas including plumbing, water supply, drainage and leak detection.

Founder and Company Director Toby Burton said the investment directly reflects growing demand from both homeowners and commercial clients. He said: “More multi-national chains are turning to us for nationwide emergency callouts, as many simply can’t afford to wait days or even weeks for their own maintenance contractors to respond.”

Toby highlighted ageing infrastructure, leaner in-house maintenance teams and the need to minimise operational downtime as key drivers of demand.

“Large chains want a single trusted partner with the proven capability to respond 24/7 across England and Wales. When a leak or system failure occurs, every hour counts,” he added.

Burton Smith Group provides a range of plumbing and heating services, including boiler installation, water utilities, drainage, leak detection and a 24-hour emergency call-out service.
