APHC and BPEC announce partnership agreement

APHC and BPEC have entered into a partnership agreement in a bid to formalise a working relationship between both organisations.

The partnership will aim to develop industry qualifications, courses, learning materials and other appropriate areas, in order to help raise skills and standards across the plumbing and heating industry in England and Wales.

Both organisations are not-for-profit and led by employers, with BPEC (British Plumbing Employers Council) supporting those who work within the Building Services Engineering sector to increase their knowledge and skills through providing qualifications, assessments and learning materials via a network of colleges, private training centres and industry stakeholders.

APHC (Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors) is described as the leading membership body for plumbing and heating contractors in England and Wales and provides technical and business support to its members, whilst representing the needs of the wider industry through working with government and regulatory bodies.

John Thompson, CEO of APHC, commented: “I’m delighted that APHC has entered into this agreement as we recognise BPEC as a quality Awarding Organisation and Certification Body for the plumbing and heating industry. I’m looking forward to working closely with Paul and his team in the development and implementation of plumbing and heating qualifications, courses and assessments.”

Paul Johnson, CEO of BPEC, added: “APHC is the leading plumbing and heating association for England and Wales, I know that together both organisations can make a significant contribution in raising industry standards through the development of qualifications, learning materials, the new Plumbing and Heating Trailblazer Apprenticeship as well as encouraging engineers once they have successfully completed their qualifications and apprenticeships to continue improving their skills throughout their career.”

The Partnership Agreement was formalised on 10 September 2018.
