ADEY teams up with Forest Green Rovers

The world’s greenest football club, Forest Green Rovers, has a new community partner. Passionate about supporting communities and having a positive impact on the environment and people’s lives, ADEY has pledged its support for FGR Community, which aims to motivate, inspire and educate through football in Gloucestershire and beyond. Committed to sustainability and leading the fight against climate change, FGR is the world’s first and only vegan football club and the first to be certified carbon neutral by the United Nations.

The new partnership with ADEY will help FGR Community to continue to work with schools, community groups and vulnerable people to not only help raise awareness of the impact of climate change, but other social issues too such as mental health and loneliness. ADEY will be working closely with the FGR Community team to help deliver and support some of their initiatives; whether that’s through volunteering or helping spread the message about how we can all do something to reduce carbon emissions.

Matthew Webber, ADEY’s CEO, said: “This is a hugely exciting partnership for us and the whole team is looking forward to working with the Club and getting involved as much as possible. There is a lot of synergy with ADEY and the work FGR Community is doing. Not only around sustainability and carbon reduction, but acknowledging the impact organisations can, and should, now be having on their communities and the people that live there.

“Like FGR, we’re a Gloucestershire business with a global reach, and while the sectors we operate in couldn’t be more different, we share a passion to create a more sustainable planet to live on and support the community. The home and buildings are the second largest contributor to carbon emissions in the world. Working alongside plumbing and heating engineers across the globe, our products are used to improve the efficiency of central heating systems, helping to reduce the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere, extending the life of boilers and saving the homeowner money in energy bills. Our aim is to work with FGR Community to spread the message and ultimately have a positive impact on people’s lives.

“We are delighted that ADEY wish to partner with FGR Community,” said Sarah Urquhart, Head of FGR Community. “Their investment and support will make a significant difference in allowing us to extend our reach and sustain our programmes. In doing so we will be able to knock on more doors, spend time talking and supporting local families, visit older residents and extend matchday invitations. We are really looking forward to working together.”
