Q. How do you change circuit temperature using the Aerona Smart Controller? David Benson, Technical Writer, Grant UK says…

The Aerona Smart Controller is designed for use with Grant Aerona³ and Aerona 290 heat pump models. With heating curve configuration utilising in-built weather compensation and advanced monitoring software, it helps optimise heat pump efficiency while allowing installers to set, view, and adjust heating schedules with ease.

Setting up a heating circuit
During the initial setup, the controller will guide you through configuring the heating circuits. This includes selecting the emitter type—radiators or underfloor heating—and choosing between a fixed or weather-compensated flow temperature.

Once the setup is complete, temperature settings can be modified via the Smart Controller’s home screen. If a temperature sensor is installed, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the temperature icon in the top-left corner of the screen.
  2. Swipe to select the circuit you wish to adjust (the circuit name appears at the bottom).
  3. Tap the temperature value in the centre of the screen.
  4. Use the ‘+’ and ‘-’ buttons to increase or decrease the temperature.
  5. Tap the back arrow to save and return to the home screen.

 Temperature feedback colours
The controller provides instant feedback on how close the circuit is to the set temperature:

Green – Optimal temperature reached
Red – Above the target temperature
Blue – Below the target temperature

The system will then adjust automatically to maintain the desired conditions.
