Adam Pearson – Category Manager (Plastic Plumbing & Underfloor Heating), Polypipe Building Products – provides an insight into PolyPlumb Enhanced.
Q. What are the key features of PolyPlumb®Enhanced that benefit installers?
PolyPlumb® has been a widely known and loved fixture for professional installers for over 25 years. Continuous improvement applied through innovative technology and progressive design is at the heart of everything we do at Polypipe Building Products, and we’re proud to share the results with the heating and plumbing community. PolyPlumb® Enhanced continues to deliver the reliability and confidence installers have grown to expect from the product but brings a fresh new look and even better performance.
The PolyPlumb® push-fit range has been relaunched with a series of innovative design upgrades. Complete with a streamlined design and fresh new look, the new PolyPlumb® Enhanced features patented In-Cert® feedback technology to provide added confidence when fitting. The enhanced range from Polypipe Building Products is compatible with Polypipe Plumbing & Heating pipe, as well as copper pipe, and is suitable for most hot and cold-water supply and heating applications.
Q. Does the fitting provide any feedback that the pipe is secure?
PolyPlumb® Enhanced features our patented In-Cert® feedback technology providing the installer with improved jointing assurance and peace of mind through haptic feedback.
The compact fitting features the trusted pre-lubricated EPDM O-ring and the proven high performance stainless-steel grab ring for continued joint integrity.
Q. How does the In-Cert®technology work?
The In-Cert® Pipe Stiffener is manufactured from a high specification engineering polymer which is used in complex and demanding automotive, aerospace and medical applications. It incorporates a 360o wave feature in its head which engages with projections within the socket and helps to align and centralise the pipe. The haptic click of the In-Cert® technology gives real confidence; just push the pipe home, twist and you know the job’s done; push, twist, know.
Q. What colour options are available?
PolyPlumb® Enhanced brings a fresh new look and is available in white for the first time as well as the original grey, allowing it to blend seamlessly in a range of settings. The two colours are fully compatible with each other if required, making it the perfect system. In addition, PolyPlumb® provides a superb combination of fast fitting and permanent, reliable fix. The joint is demountable by disassembly only.
Q. What kind of feedback about PolyPlumb® Enhanced have you had from the sector?
PolyPlumb® Enhanced continues to deliver the reliability and confidence installers have grown to expect for over the past quarter of a century from PolyPlumb® fittings and the response since the launch of the updated and improved product has confirmed this with glowing feedback on the new design and look, improved functionality and no compromise to the tried and tested performance of the fitting. Installer feedback is particularly positive about the patented In-Cert® feedback technology and the improved jointing experience delivering assurance of a correctly made joint.
Q. Does the system carry a warranty?
Our PolyPlumb® push-fit range has been a tried-and-tested staple of the residential plumbing market for over 25 years, we’re confident in the reliability of our fittings and offer a 50-year guarantee, meaning installers can fit them with peace of mind.
