Keeping tools secure, tidy and easy to transport can help make jobs run more smoothly. PHPI runs through a couple of solutions from KNIPEX.
Transporting tools and equipment can be a headache at times, but professional solutions can help keep tools secure and to hand, right when they are needed.
Two solutions from Knipex, its Modular X18 Tool Backpack (00 21 50 S) and the Robust26 Move Tool Case (00 21 33 S) have been designed to provide tradespeople with practical, dependable transport solutions for everyday kit.
The Modular X18 Backpack features front and back panels that open fully for easy access while there is also a removable tool board designed to keep everything in order. A padded back helps make it comfortable to carry.
The bag’s 18-litre capacity is divided into compartments for tools, measuring instruments and even a tablet or notebook. The company says the impact-resistant waterproof base keeps it upright and clean and the outer fabric, made from recycled fibres, is splash-proof and easy to maintain.
The bag features magnetic and mechanical FIDLOCK® connectors designed to lock fast but open instantly when needed and also heavy duty MOLLE webbing designed to keep tools tight and secure, with one strap inside and four outside for attaching clips or accessories. There are 21 loops and 37 pockets, providing storage for a wide variety of tools and equipment.
On the case
For those who prefer to wheel their gear, the Robust26 Move has an extendable handle and smooth-running wheels designed to make it easy to transport. Padlock eyelets provide security on site or in transit, while a built-in document compartment keeps paperwork dry and organised.
This 26.4-litre case has 80 insertion options (19 pockets and 61 loops) plus a lockable base tray that can be divided using aluminium separators.
It is made from impact-resistant polypropylene and the company says that it is dustproof, watertight and able to handle temperatures from -30°C to +80°C.
