Giacomini heats up Ashton Gate

£45 million has been spent to redevelop the Ashton Gate stadium (home to Bristol City Football Club and Bristol Rugby Club) and, come the start of the 2016/17 season, the ground’s capacity will be increased so that 27,000 fans will be able to watch them play.

The first phase of the works saw a new 6,000 seater South Stand being built, and now work has commenced on the new Grandstand with a capacity of 10,000 seats, which is being installed following the demolition of the previous Williams stand which had been at the ground for 60 years.

The new stand is not the only major change at the ground. New changing rooms are also being installed and both the home and away teams’ changing rooms will feature underfloor heating from Bristol-based Giacomini.

Matt Lowe, Managing Director of Giacomini UK, commented: “Being a Bristol based company we’re delighted to be involved in the redevelopment works of Ashton Gate. It’s great to be part of creating a new landmark for Bristol.”
