ATAG Commercial called in for DIY SOS Big Build

In July 2016, hundreds of tradespeople gave their time, services and materials to transform Blackpool Carers Centre, as part of the ‘DIY SOS Big Build for BBC Children in Need’. This included ATAG Commercial donating two Q60 boilers, which are supplying the building with highly efficient heating and hot water services.

The boilers were specified by Project Manager Dave Hinchcliffe, from building services engineers SC Horsfield. Commenting on ATAG Commercial, he said: “When we started planning the heating system for the DIY SOS installation, ATAG Commercial’s Q boilers were top of the list. Its stainless steel heat exchangers are pretty much bombproof, while everything on the boiler, from programming through to commissioning and servicing is really simple. The units really are ‘plug and play’ as far as setup is concerned.

“From a customer service point of view, we also knew we could rely 100% on ATAG Commercial. Given the onsite time constraints for this type of project, we couldn’t afford to have any delays and the support from the ATAG Commercial team was fantastic.”

Paul Martin, National Sales Manager for ATAG Commercial, added: “We are extremely proud to have contributed to this project. It is for such a great cause, providing services to carers of all ages. We know the main purpose is to make ‘A Better Life for Carers’ and, if ATAG Commercial is helping, even by simply providing heating and hot water, it is worthwhile.”

Michelle Smith, CEO of Blackpool Carers Centre, added: “We sincerely thank DIY SOS, BBC Children in Need and everyone else that has been involved. We are astonished by the efforts of the team, people who have donated materials and volunteers; the support has been beyond what we could have ever imagined. This renovation will enable us to help improve the lives of more children and young people with caring responsibilities who are in need of our support both now and in the years to come.”

Q Series boilers from ATAG Commercial have been specifically designed for larger homes and properties with high hot water demands. Incorporating top quality components, such as a stainless steel heat exchanger, the range is said to offer unrivalled levels of energy efficiency.

The compact range of boilers is available in three combination models with outputs of 25kW, 38kW and 51kW, along with four system versions offering outputs of 25kW, 38kW, 51kW and 60kW.

To make installation in domestic and commercial applications straightforward, all Q Series units are compatible with extensive flue options, including concentric, twin and flexible liner. In addition, all boilers in the range benefit from an over-pressure of up to 90 Pa at the flue connection, allowing the appliances to be exhausted over considerable distances, with or without a room sealed air supply.
