Ariston heats Edinburgh apartments

20 Clas HE evo boilers complete with the Ariston NET smart control system are being installed at Drumsheugh Gardens – a collection of apartments set in a Victorian mansion block located in the heart of Edinburgh.

While the historic façade is synonymous with Edinburgh’s architecture, the properties – which previously housed the offices for the Scottish Legal Aid Board – have been refurbished to the highest specification with modern fittings throughout, including new heating systems.

Nine of the boilers have already been fitted as part of phase one of the project, while the remaining 11 will be installed early in 2017. The developer responsible for the new properties was Square and Crescent, a specialist in acquiring and refurbishing Georgian and Victorian buildings. Award-winning architectural practice Morgan McDonell handled the interior design elements.

Commenting on the heating systems chosen for Drumsheugh Gardens, Euan Marshall, Director at Square and Crescent said: “We’ve fitted Ariston’s boilers for a couple of years now and always found them to be reliable and well-received by customers. The company has an impressive product range, so when we learned about Ariston NET we didn’t hesitate to use it on this project. It offers excellent functionality, while its high level of controllability vastly improves the options available to end users in terms of managing their heating systems.”

The compact Clas HE evo is part of Ariston’s range of efficient gas-fired boilers, boasting user-friendly interfaces, high quality electrical connections and advanced control options. Clas HE evo boilers have best-in-class NOx emissions according to the manufacturer, offering efficiencies of up to 90% and outputs ranging from 24kW to 38kW.

All Clas HE evo boilers use a proven stainless steel heat exchanger alongside an ‘AUTO’ function, which monitors the ideal temperature for the heating system – reducing peaks in flow temperature and optimising efficiency.

The Ariston NET system and smartphone app utilise all the features and benefits of the company’s Sensys controller, providing end users with real time adjustment of their heating from any location. Ariston NET also features a number of different modes and settings designed to improve comfort and reduce energy bills.
