Wilo launches Yonos MAXO-Z

Water that stagnates in pipe sections with poor or no circulation poses a risk of legionella contamination. In commercially used buildings, increasingly high requirements are being set for pumps to ensure that drinking water is provided to a hygienic standard in the amounts and at the temperatures required.

To ensure hygienically safe and consistently dependable drinking water circulation, Wilo has now launched a new efficient drinking water pump, the Wilo-Yonos MAXO-Z.

“The ErP Directive, which was rolled out a few years ago, set new standards for the efficiency requirements of pumps,” explains Wilo Technical and Training Manager, Gary Wheatley. “We used European requirements for pump efficiency during development of the Yonos MAXO-Z, despite it not being covered by the directive.”

With this glandless circulator, customers can benefit from the advantages of high-efficiency technology even in domestic hot water circulation: “This makes a lot of sense, as domestic hot water circulators run up to 24 hours a day – for example in hospitals and hotels – and this high-efficiency technology can facilitate high energy savings compared to standard pumps,” says Wheatley.
Thanks to its LED display, this glandless circulator for domestic hot water also provides complete transparency of the delivery head, speed stage and possible faults. To overcome pressure loss in the piping, the required/calculated pressure can be set using the delivery head (dp-c). As a result, adjustment becomes more precise.

Also new is the clear display of error codes: “This means that any malfunctions can be recognised immediately, which minimises the amount of service work required in the event of a fault,” explains Wheatley. The Wilo-Connector and the pump’s compact design make the electrical connection easier and offer simplified and more flexible on-site installation.

“The cable is attached directly to the Connector and only then plugged in to the pump. This creates enhancements both in operability and in ease of installation.”
