Worcester on the lookout for UK’s best apprentice

Worcester, Bosch Group has called on the country’s heating engineers to get their apprentices involved in a new, nationwide search for the industry’s best apprentice installer.

The manufacturer’s latest competition will set those learning the trade a series of skill-based challenges each month in the quest to be crowned the #WeAreWorcester Apprentice of the Year.

Tasks will be issued via social media every month, with each entry scored and added to the individual’s tally. The top candidates for each region will then be put forward for a national finale, after which the overall winner will receive a personalised toolbox kitted out with everything they’ll need for life in the heating industry.

The first challenge will see those wishing to enter the competition tasked with producing a short video explaining why they should be Worcester’s Apprentice of the Year. Entrants should then keep an eye out for subsequent challenges by searching ‘Worcester Bosch Professional’ on Facebook or ‘@WorcesterBosch’ on Twitter.

Martyn Bridges, Director of Technical Communication and Product Management at Worcester, Bosch Group said: “Starting out in the heating industry can be a daunting prospect, so we’re keen to celebrate the country’s apprentices by giving them the perfect platform to show off their skills.

“Of course, it’s vital that all apprentices get the resources they need to succeed, so as well as equipping our overall winner with the very best tools, there’ll be plenty of helpful hints, tips and advice along the way.”
