Environmental technologies and energy efficiency are becoming more popular and so to help you develop a wider understanding in these areas, the National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies has developed a new range of bespoke e-learning resources.

The new resources are easily accessible at www.nsa-elearning.org.uk and have been developed to help those who want to gain a further understanding about the various environmental technologies available.

‘Future proof your career’ is aimed at experienced building services engineers and an ‘Introduction to Environmental Technology Systems’ is accessible to anyone with an interest in renewables.

Other resources available in the suite support the level 3 qualifications, and include modules on solar thermal hot water systems, small-scale solar photovoltaic systems, ground and air source heat pump systems and water harvesting and recycling systems.

“The new e-learning resources are easy to use and can be completed at your own pace. They include a narrative to guide you through the topics and at the end of each section there is a short quiz to test your understanding of the areas covered. Our high quality learning modules and resources can be used as a pre-study, making it more accessible for students to study in their own time at home, under tutor direction, freeing up valuable time to carry out your daily job”; comments Cathryn Hickey, executive director, for the Skills Academy.

If after completing any of the online modules, you feel you would like to learn more, you can contact your local Academy provider for details of further training and assessment. In some cases enrolling to take the formal qualification requires certain entry criteria – find out more from your local Academy provider by visiting www.nsaet.org.uk/contact-us

The resources are priced between £14.99 and £65.99 and can be bought with the National Skills Academy’s series of learner manuals which support the delivery of the QCF level 3 qualifications in related disciplines, but are also available as standalone documents. Access to ‘Future proof your career’ resource is free of charge.
