Gas Chat Tour rolls into Essex

The Gas Chat nationwide tour continues to successfully raise money for children’s charity Candlelighters after completing its third installation of the year. The running total from the Tour has now reached over £8k.

The latest installation in the series saw a team of 15 engineers volunteer their time to tackle a system upgrade in an Essex office. The job involved replacing an ageing boiler with a new E-Combi evo, as well as splitting the system into two zones – all managed by the Ariston NET smart control system.

Allan Carrick, National Technical Sales and Quality Manager for Ariston, was on site to provide technical backup and advice to the engineers. Commenting on the installation, Allan said: “On paper, this job looked to be a fairly straightforward, but plumbing is never easy – which we soon discovered! However, it was testament to the professionalism of the engineers that they solved a few problems quickly and efficiently and, at the end of the day, delivered a really high quality installation which they can all be really proud of.

“It’s really encouraging to see the money raised so far from just three projects; we’ve got some great installations lined up, so we’re sure we’ll continue in this fashion and hit our target of £25,000 for the charity by the end of the year – if not more!”

Candlelighters raises over £1million every year to fund a number of services that offer practical and emotional support to children with cancer, throughout Yorkshire, and their families. Helping to raise these funds is Allen Hart, a registered gas engineer from Guiseley, who has been offering free boiler installs and servicing for customers in return for a donation to the charity. Allen began providing charity installations in memory of his daughter, Laura Hart, who sadly lost her battle with a rare form of cancer in 2007, aged just three years old.

Each stop of the tour will see local heating engineers and tradesmen who are members of on the online ‘Gas Chat’ social media forum (set up by Allen Hart and his fellow gas engineers) participate with each installation.
