Ariston has pledged its full support to the HHIC’s ‘Installers First’ initiative, which has seen thousands of Gas Safe engineers unite to voice their opinions on key aspects of the plumbing and heating industry.
Installers First is a community of professional accredited heating engineers. It provides installers with information and an opportunity to help shape government regulation and policy, by making sure their voices are heard, and their valuable experience is taken into consideration. In addition, it provides engineers with a single port of call for the latest industry information and developments, such as government consultations for proposed legislation, regulation and schemes like ECO and Green Deal.
Commenting on Installers First, Alex Boweren, Product Manager at Ariston, said: “Installers are the lifeblood of our industry, so it is imperative their voices are heard. The plumbing and heating sector needs to listen to what engineers have to say in order to advance and improve – particularly in terms of government policy, Building Regulations and Gas Safe awareness. It is fantastic they now have a platform from which to voice and share their opinions on important issues such as training, skills, legislative developments and safety standards.”
Ariston will also be including details of Installers First in its training courses, as well as publishing links to the platform on its website. The company will also be relaying the latest Installers First news and announcements across its social media platforms.
Installers First has already been busy gathering industry feedback during 2017 on a variety of issues, resulting in it identifying three key ambitions. The first is to review and improve the current entry to the industry and ensure training meets the needs of installers. Secondly, it endeavours to ensure all engineers are Gas Safe registered and improve consumer awareness about this. Finally, the community aims to increase focus on driving up standards across the industry, with safety viewed as paramount.
